Join Anna for a workshop exploring the postures of Ashtanga Yoga.
Ashtanga Yoga is a highly structured vinyasa-style class with six series each containing sets of specific postures. This workshop will focus on the first series. The primary series begins with ten sun salutations (five A and five B), continues with a series of standing postures done on each side, and finishes with a set of seated postures and inversions, which are linked by a vinyasa sequence.
At this workshop we will learn about the 4 key elements of Ashtanga. Then we will practice the Ashtanga yoga primary series, discussing proper alignment, modifications/variations, and basic anatomy. After completion of this workshop, you will feel more confident in your self-practice and take away knowledge about your body and mind that you will be able to apply in any style of yoga class.
